my favorite glue for EVA foam!
- Apply the glue
- Put contact cement on both pieces you’ll adhere
- Spread it very thin – there should be no drips or globs!
- You can use an old brush, q-tips, a piece of scrap foam, or you can use reusable silicone makeup brushes.
2. Let it dry
- Let the glue dry until the surface is tacky but not wet
- If the bond will be under pressure (curved or weight-bearing), apply a second layer of contact cement
- It takes practice to get this timing right – stick with it!
3. Apply pressure
- Put the pieces together! Apply pressure for 15 seconds.
- Allow the bond to set for 24 hours before heating or plasti-dipping
Tips and safety
- When using contact cement, ALWAYS wear a respirator and work in a well-ventilated area! The vapors are very toxic.
- I love Original DAP version, but other brands work great too.
- Contact cement is sandable!
- Contact cement works on almost ANYTHING!
